This HCUP Fast Stats interactive heat map visualizes opioid-related inpatient stays and emergency department visits by State. Each State's opioid-related rate is reported per 100,000 population. States are color-coded in quintiles using 2015 as the base year.

  • 281 - 350
  • > 350

Inpatient stays include those admitted through the emergency department.
States are classified into five categories which were defined based on an equal grouping of States in 2015.
