Versions of the Clinical Classifications Software (CCS) for Services and Procedures Tool

The appropriate version of the CCS-Services and Procedures Tool depends on the data year for which the HCPCSs Level I (CPTs) and Level II are valid.

Calendar Year 2025

  • v2025.1 for HCPCSs Level I (CPTs) and Level II Codes Valid in Calendar Year 2025

    The ZIP folder includes the CSV mapping file, a SAS mapping program, and all of the user documentation. At this time, the tool is only available as a SAS program.

For convenience, the user documentation for the CCS-Services and Procedures v2025.1 is also provided as separate documents:

Calendar Year 2024

  • v2024.1 for HCPCSs Level I (CPTs) and Level II Codes Valid in Calendar Year 2024

    The ZIP folder includes the CSV mapping file, a SAS mapping program, and all of the user documentation. At this time, the tool is only available as a SAS program.

Calendar Years 2018-2019

  • v2019.2 for HCPCSs Level I (CPTs) and Level II Codes Valid in Calendars Year 2018-2019

    The mapping of codes into CCS categories is consistent with v2020.1, including the new CCS category for telehealth. The ZIP folder includes the CSV mapping file, a SAS mapping program, and a copy of the Change Log from v2019.1 to v2019. At this time, the tool is only available as a SAS program.

Archived Prior Version

  • v2019.1 for HCPCS Level I (CPT) codes released at any time between January 1992 and January 2019, in addition to HCPCS Level II codes released at any time between January 2002 and January 2019

    The mapping of codes into CCS categories may not take into consideration longitudinal changes in code definitions. This version does not include any of the added or revised categories from v2020.1. The ZIP folder includes the CSV mapping file. This file does not have an accompanying program.
