A unique HCUP hospital number exclusive to the NIS; links to the Hospital Weights file. HOSP_NIS cannot link to previous years or other databases. Beginning with the 2012 NIS, hospital names and identifiers are no longer available, and the HCUP hospital identification number (HOSPID) is replaced by the NIS hospital number (HOSP_NIS). |
