OS_TIME includes the time under observation services (OS). The time is determined by the unit value reported for revenue center code 762. Uniform Billing (UB-04) billing specifications define revenue center code 762 as "observation hours" with the corresponding field for units to include the number of hours. No other edit checks are performed on this data element during HCUP processing. |
