IntensiveCare is retained as reported by data source with two exceptions. Any source-specific value for "unknown" is recoded to missing (.), and invalid characters such as negative values are set to invalid (.A). |

Nevada Nevada discontinued the INTENSIVECARE code and stopped providing it in 2011. Nevada provided two intensive care codes from 2008 through 2010. During the HCUP processing, 0 or 99 were assigned to each code.
