50-State Environmental Scan of State Publications Documenting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Status and Health Care

This summary is the product of an environmental scan conducted by the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to identify state data-driven documents (strategic plans, report cards, or reports) addressing racial and ethnic disparities in health status and healthcare. NASHP performed the scan in Spring and Summer 2010. The purpose of the scan was to identify documents that met the criteria listed below:

• The document included a primary or secondary focus on healthcare disparities.
• The document was published in 2007 or later.
• The document included a significant amount of race/ethnicity data.
• There was evidence of state action on (e.g., use of information in) the document.

This 50-state environmental scan summary highlights the state documents that best met the search criteria. The summary includes the following information about each document (organized by state):
